Garlic Herb Flatbread (Soft and Buttery)
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt (optional, for a softer texture)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Warm water (as needed)
For the topping:
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the dough:
- In a bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt
- Add the yogurt and oil
- Gradually add warm water and mix until a soft dough forms
- Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic
- Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size
2. Shape the flatbread:
- Divide the dough into small portions
- Roll each portion into a round or oval shape
3. Cook:
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat without oil
- Cook each flatbread until bubbles form and golden spots appear
- Flip and cook the other side until fully cooked
4. Add the topping:
- Mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and salt
- Brush the mixture over the flatbread while still hot
Serving Suggestions
- Serve with grilled chicken, meat, or curry
- Use as sandwich bread
- Enjoy with dips or on its own
